फाल्गुनकृत्यं स्कन्दपुराणे---
एकभक्तं तु कुर्वाणः फाल्गुने मासि नित्यशः।
स्त्रीषु सौभाग्यमाप्नोति स्त्रियश्च परमप्रियाः॥
वामनपुराणे---
फाल्गुने व्रीहयो गावो वस्त्रं कृष्णाजिनान्वितम्।
गोविन्दप्रीणनार्थाय दातव्यं पुरुषर्षभ॥ इति।
phAlguna-mAsaH begins today. From the Skanda Purāṇa: He who observes ekabhakta (one meal a day) regularly throughout the month of Phālguna gains saubhāgya among women, and becomes extremely dear to them. From the Vāmana Purāṇa: During Phālguna, one should offer rice, cows, and cloth along with kṛṣṇājina (black antelope skin) as a gift to please Govinda (Viṣṇu).Names
