Karaka chaturthi vratam — the famous Karwa Chauth festival is celebrated on this day. Only women have the right to perform this vratam. This vratam must be performed for 12 or 16 years or lifelong. At moonrise, one should offer Arghya to Bhagavan Ganesha and partake the offerings.
